TNHF Interns Rock the Street Fair!
An Exciting Account of a Successful Day
With brand new easy-up in tow, my fellow interns, Matt and Jesse, and I arrived at our assigned spot at 41st and Hawthorne for the day's street fair. It promised to be one of the few warmer Portland summer days that pepper our otherwise dreary climate, but we were ready. Set up commenced, and Jesse did her happy dance as we laid out the t-shirts for sale, which included her newly designed yellow one created specifically for the TNHF Women's Empowerment Campaign. The three of us debated the convenience of our booth location and worried we wouldn't get much traffic...but we were wrong!

We took turns chatting with those that passed by, happily explaining what These Numbers Have Faces is all about. As one girl bought a shirt, she commented, "I wonder why I haven't heard of you guys before!" It was a day full of connections and excitement, teamwork and laughter. During our downtime, Jesse explained the benefits of aloe juice to Matt and me. We recommend you try some!

Around 4pm, after consuming inordinate amounts of water (and aloe juice), we decided to pack it up. Thankful for our completely filled up newsletter sign up sheet, and the shade provided by our easy-up, it was time to head in out of the heat.
Thanks to those of you who stopped by--we loved chatting with you! If you didn't get the chance to come say hi, or know of some friends who would love to hear what we're about, you'll be able to find us next week at the Alberta Street Fair. See you then!
