Host A Fundraiser for TNHF

From the beginning, TNHF has relied on creative wonderful supporters like yourself who share our passion for education and social change. Whether you are a long time supporter or just stumbled across our website, we’d love for you to join us in our efforts to empower young South Africans to change their communities from the inside out.

Check out some ideas below on how you can get involved!

1. Creative Ideas

Are you the creative type? Put that creative greatness to good use! So far we’ve seen concerts, art shows, and poetry jams with people donating a proceed of their sales to TNHF. Check out the Art Activism tab and the little card shop that could: http://danipress.bigcartel.com/. But don’t just take our ideas — let us know what you want to do and we will outfit you with all the necessary materials to make it a great success!

2. Host an Event

The opportunities are endless! We’ve seen great success with people donating their birthday to TNHF (who really wants all those presents anyway!), a rock paper scissors tournament, benefit concerts, house parties, dinner and dessert potlucks, and barbeques all to raise awareness and funds for the students in South Africa. Want to do this or have an event you are dying to host? Just let us know!

3. Challenge Your Community

Who doesn’t love a challenge? Challenge your friends to a coffee (or donuts, or fast food, or well…whatever you eat everyday) fast. Donate that money saved to a college scholarship. Love to run? Run with a purpose! Sign up for a road race and raise money for every mile of concrete you conquer.

Play on a sports team? Challenge your team to donate $5 for every goal scored or every game won. Does your company do matching donations? Gather your coworkers together and do a workplace TNHF Campaign. What’s your challenge?

1. Heart and Hash Stencil:

Print out our Heart and Hash stencil and get creative. Send us photos of your stencil creations and we’ll put them on the website.

***TNHF strictly discourages any use of the heart/hash stencil for vandalism purposes. We believe art has the ability to do lots of good in the world. Putting a heart/hash stencil on something that doesn't belong to you is bad for you, bad for us, and bad for our friends in South Africa. Don't do it.

2. Music for Education:

Are you a musician? In a band? Know people who are? These Numbers Have Faces hopes to use music to raise awareness and financial support for South African youth.

If you're a touring musician and want to use your music for social change, consider partnering with TNHF. We will send you promotional material to help us get the word out and will highlight you on this website and the TNHF Myspace page for your efforts.

3. Design a TNHF T-shirt:

Are you a graphic designer? TNHF uses t-shirts to raise support and awareness for education in South Africa. Can you create a TNHF t-shirt that we can sell in our online store?

4. Are you an Artist? Tell us about it!

Now is your chance to get innovative. If you're a musician, writer, photographer, poet, designer, quilter, painter, sculptor, drawer, thespian, dancer, or print-maker, TNHF can use your talents.

TNHF Internships - Winter/Spring 2012

Working as an intern at These Numbers Have Faces (TNHF) offers a great opportunity to gain experience with a dynamic NGO and contribute your passions, skills and knowledge to a team of individuals dedicated to educating and empowering South African youth to ignite community transformation.

We are currently offering ONE internship position for Winter/Spring 2012, starting February 2012:

Celebrating Amazing Stories of Ordinary People Supporting Education in South Africa

Dani Kreeft visits South Africa to document TNHF during the World Cup!

Paper Beats Rock: Westmont College Rock Paper Scissors Tournament

Westmont College students turned the ultimate game into a smashing fundraiser for TNHF. Organized by the Westmont TNHF club, the tournament attracted hundreds of students to raise funds for students in South Africa. Check out the video!
